Southern Maine Gearbots – Open Board Positions
League Coordinator – This role is for an individual with a strong understanding of Program Development and Administration, Lego and Lego Mindstorms, and STEM based Education. This individual will develop, train, and administer STEM based robotics programs for coaches and students across Southern Maine.
Social Media Director – This role is for an individual with facebook/blog/wordpress/mailing list experience to maintain and setup any special online pages necessary for the group’s communication to our community and to allow information to be readily dispersed about group’s activity and promotion.
District Meet Coordinator – This role is for coordinating the group’s District Meet, including organizing donations, setting up our fund raising efforts, as well as organizing concessions and other various money making activities involving food items at our district meets and for any other fund raising activities.
Coach Liaisons (by town) – Portland (open) / Also for newly added towns
The Coach Liaison is the point person for the town or area and is instrumental in coordinating and organizing the teams for that area. This role helps to get word out to parents in the schools about the program, answer questions about the program or forward the questions on to those who have the answers, liaise with the school administration, and report back to the Southern Maine Gearbots Board as needed. Typically this person is also a Coach or parent of a child in the program.
Board Member At Large – Several at-large positions are available and allow participation in group meetings and help in adhoc needs to move along the group’s objectives.
